Ferdinand Kulmer was born in Cap Martinu in France on the 29th of January, 1925.
He studied at the Art academies in Budapest (1942-1945) and Zagreb (1945-1948).
He went to special classes by Đuro Tiljak from 1948 to 1950.
He was an associate of the Krsto Hegedušić master workshop from 1950 to 1957.
He started teaching at the Zagreb Academy of Visual Art in 1961.
He was a member of the “Mart” group, the “Forum” gallery and the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts.
He received the “Vladimir Nazor” lifetime achievement award in 1990.
Ferdinand Kulmer passed away on the 1st of November, 1998 in Zagreb.
