Meglić Vladimir

Vladimir Meglić was born on the 15th of April, 1955 in Donji Pustakovac, Međimurje.
He graduated from the Zagreb School of Applied Arts in 1975.
He worked on scenography in the Croatian National Theatre (HNK) after graduation.
After five years of working in HNK he enrolled in the Zagreb Academy of Visual Arts. 
He graduated in 1986 in the class of prof. Josip Biffel.
He works mostly as an independant painter, doing many group exhibitions in Croatia and abroad, sometimes with an informal group of artists known as “Contra”.
His work is very characteristically figurative with a strong picturesque language inspired by his childhood, the theatre or religion. The motif of the wooden chair has become the main subject of his painting which he has taken three dimensional art, mainly chairs - objects decorated with mosaic and painted.
He lives and works in Zagreb.
