Rikizo Fukao

Fukao Rikizo was born in Gunma, Japan in 1946 and spent his childhood in Tokyo.
He started painting at the age of 24 after moving to Paris, after which he soon relocated once again,
this time to Geneva, Switzerland.
He retired from working as Chief programmer of ILO in 1981 in order to focus on painting full-time.
His first exhibition in Japan was in 1999, after many exhibitions all over Europe.
He opened new workspaces in 2012, one in Paris and one in Kyoto.
He lives and works concurrently in Paris and Kyoto.
